Chelsea Football Club have officially confirmed the permanent departure of Portuguese forward João Félix, who has joined Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr in a deal worth up to €50 million.
The 25-year-old links up with compatriot and football icon Cristiano Ronaldo as Al-Nassr continue to bolster their squad ahead of the 2025/26 season. The transfer deal includes an initial €30 million fee with a further €20 million in performance-related add-ons.
Félix, who was initially expected to return to his boyhood club, saw that move fall through after Al-Nassr presented Chelsea with a more financially favorable package. The Blues opted to cash in on the former Atlético Madrid forward, having re-signed him permanently last summer for £46.3 million following a brief loan spell in 2023.
Despite flashes of brilliance, Félix struggled to consistently impress at Stamford Bridge. He made 20 appearances across all competitions for Chelsea last season, scoring seven goals.
With this transfer, Chelsea have now raised a total of £135.7 million from player sales during the current window, helping to offset a net spend of £82.3 million.
The move marks yet another high-profile signing for Al-Nassr as they look to dominate the Saudi Pro League and build a global brand around their superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo.
