In a new development surrounding the lingering controversies linked to late singer Mohbad, former Marlian crew member DJ Splash has publicly refuted claims made by actress Iyabo Ojo regarding Naira Marley.
A few days ago, Iyabo Ojo alleged that DJ Splash, whose real name is Mathew Aderoju, had confided in her that Naira Marley drugged her son, Festus, during a visit to the Marlian Music house. The claim stirred public concern, adding fuel to the ongoing scrutiny around the label boss.
However, DJ Splash has now released a video statement to clear the air. In the clip, he described Iyabo’s statement as “a fat lie,” insisting that he never made such an accusation.
He explained that although Festus did visit the Marlian house once, Naira Marley was not even present at the time. Splash emphasized that his experience with Naira Marley was largely positive, describing him as someone who showed him love during his time with the label.
“I never said Naira Marley drugged anyone. I don’t know where Iyabo got that from,” he said, expressing disappointment at how his words were allegedly twisted.
DJ Splash had previously made headlines when he sought financial help for his health challenges, but this marks his first direct involvement in the Mohbad-related fallout between former Marlian associates and the public.
