Nigerian filmmaker Biodun Stephen has weighed in on the viral incident involving Comfort Emmanson, the passenger dramatically removed from an Ibom Air flight on August 10, 2025.
While much of the online discussion has centred on aviation safety and passenger conduct, Stephen’s focus was on a different takeaway, the importance of wearing underwear in public.
In a video shared on Instagram, the award-winning filmmaker commented on the moment Emmanson’s breasts were exposed during a physical altercation with flight attendants and security personnel. “I warned before, but people dragged me,” Stephen said. “If you know you want to fight, wear pants and bra first. The lady wore leggings, but I don’t believe she wore panties. Everybody saw what they weren’t supposed to see.”
Ibom Air had earlier explained that the confrontation began before takeoff when Emmanson allegedly refused to switch off her mobile phone, in violation of aviation safety rules. The situation escalated into a tussle, with security eventually escorting her off the aircraft.
Stephen, who recalled previously advising women to always wear undergarments, reiterated her stance in light of the incident. “I’m saying it again. Wear your bra, wear your pant, so that when the spirit of Hulk Hogan enters you, you’ll be ready for battle,” she said, referencing the physical struggle captured in the viral footage.
The incident has continued to stir conversations online, with reactions ranging from debates on flight regulations to discussions about modesty and public conduct.
