Iyabo Ojo fires back at VeryDarkMan over Naira Marley meeting allegations

Iyabo Ojo x VeryDarkMan x Naira Marley

Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has clapped back at social media critic Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), following his explosive claims about a closed-door meeting with controversial singer Naira Marley, socialite Sam Larry, and a supervising police officer.

VDM stirred fresh drama after releasing a video on Sunday, August 3, in which he claimed to be present at a meeting involving Naira Marley, Iyabo Ojo, and others. He alleged that fellow actress Tonto Dikeh later joined the gathering and accused Iyabo of failing to present evidence that Naira Marley bullied the late singer Mohbad or drugged her children. Instead, he claimed, she offered an apology.

Responding in a fiery video, Iyabo confirmed the meeting took place but insisted VDM’s motives were far from innocent. She accused the critic of deceit and manipulation, saying he switched narratives only after learning she had petitioned the parties involved.

“I know why you came out to do that video,” Iyabo said. “You have to come out and do your manipulative tactics… I’m a very wise woman. I know when to fight, when to listen, and when to speak. I’m not like you that speaks from both sides of the mouth.”

The actress also addressed the controversial WhatsApp group chats linked to the Mohbad case. While confirming the group existed, she said she was no longer a member but affirmed that the chats could still be retrieved if needed by authorities.

Adding another layer to the drama, Iyabo disclosed that DJ Splash, a former signee of Naira Marley, told her that her son Festus had once visited Marley’s residence with Mohbad’s ex-manager. According to Iyabo, DJ Splash alleged that Festus’ drink was spiked with a substance, an act known by everyone present except her son.

This latest clash reignites the public feud between Iyabo Ojo and VeryDarkMan, both of whom were once united in calling for justice after Mohbad’s tragic death. Now, accusations of betrayal, manipulation, and a shifting narrative continue to muddy the waters of an already complex controversy.
