Former Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has been granted conditional bail after appearing before Westminster Magistrates\’ Court on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, in connection with rape and sexual assault charges involving three women.
The Ghanaian international faces five charges linked to alleged incidents that occurred between 2021 and 2022. While Partey denied all allegations, the court session, which lasted less than 15 minutes, focused solely on whether he understood the charges and the bail terms, not on entering a plea.
Now 32 years old, Partey’s case has been transferred to the Crown Court, and he is scheduled to appear before the Old Bailey on September 2, 2025.
According to the court, the conditions of Partey’s bail include: He must not contact any of the alleged victims, He is required to inform police of any change of address and He must notify authorities before any international travel.
Partey was first arrested in July 2022, though his identity was not made public at the time. Despite ongoing investigations, he continued to play for Arsenal, where he had spent five seasons after his £45 million move from Atlético Madrid in 2020. The midfielder’s contract expired at the end of June 2025, making him a free agent. Last season, he made 52 appearances across all competitions for the North London club.
As legal proceedings continue, the case has drawn significant public interest, especially given Partey\’s high profile and the seriousness of the allegations.
