Nigerian singer Lojay has added another impressive accolade to his growing international profile as his hit song Monalisa reaches a new global milestone.

The record, which features ace producer Sarz and American R&B star Chris Brown, has officially been certified Gold in the United States.

The achievement was confirmed on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, after the track crossed over 500,000 sales and equivalent streams, according to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). It marks another major breakthrough for Afrobeats, highlighting the genre’s unstoppable global influence.

Originally released in 2021 as part of Lojay’s LV N ATTN EP, Monalisa quickly became a fan favorite across Africa before its remix with Chris Brown catapulted it into international fame. The song blended Lojay’s smooth vocals, Sarz’s signature production, and Chris Brown’s R&B edge, creating a cross-cultural anthem that resonated with audiences worldwide.

The Gold certification for Monalisa comes months after Lojay and Chris Brown achieved Platinum status for their collaboration Sensational, which surpassed one million units sold in the U.S. earlier this year.

For Lojay and Sarz, Monalisa’s latest recognition is more than just a plaque, it’s a symbol of how far Afrobeats has traveled, from Lagos studios to global playlists. The milestone reinforces both artists’ positions as leading voices in Nigeria’s growing music export and testifies to the genre’s expanding influence on the world stage.
