As the 2025 summer transfer window heats up, fresh reports reveal that Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze is now open to joining a Premier League club other than Arsenal.
Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly emerged as serious contenders to sign the talented midfielder, shifting the narrative from the previously proposed move to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.
According to the Daily Mail UK, Tottenham’s interest in Eze is driven by the need to fill key attacking vacancies created by James Maddison’s long-term injury and the departure of Son Heung-min. The North London club is actively seeking reinforcements to bolster their squad ahead of the 2025/2026 season.
Renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Eze is considering a switch to Spurs, with Champions League football being a significant factor in his decision. Romano tweeted, “Spurs want to add two attacking players to the squad and talks with Palace and Manchester City are ongoing.”
Eze’s contract reportedly includes a release clause of around £68 million. However, there are indications that this clause may have expired in early August, potentially giving Crystal Palace greater control over his transfer fee. With two years left on his deal at Selhurst Park, Palace is preparing for possible bids before the transfer window closes.
During the 2024/2025 season, Eze has impressed with his performances for Crystal Palace, featuring in 34 Premier League matches where he scored eight goals and provided eight assists. Across all competitions, he made 47 appearances, netting 15 goals and contributing 11 assists.
As the transfer window unfolds, Eze’s next destination remains a focal point for fans and clubs alike, with Tottenham currently positioned as a leading contender in the race for his signature.
