Nigeria showcases economic reforms under President Tinubu in new global documentary series

Economic reforms

Nigeria has launched a new global documentary series highlighting its economic reforms, investment opportunities, and development agenda under President Bola Tinubu, in a bid to reshape the country’s international image and attract investors.

The campaign, backed by top regulators and private sector leaders, aims to position Nigeria as a hub for innovation, infrastructure growth, and sustainable economic transformation.

The initiative, A New Nigeria Is Here (ANNIH) Season 2, is produced by Lead Projects Africa and will air from Wednesday, August 12 across major networks including Channels Television, News Central Africa, CNN, CNBC Africa, AIT, TVC and Arise News, as well as stream globally on YouTube.

“This isn’t just a documentary series; it’s a cinematic journey into Nigeria’s transformative odyssey and economic drivers under President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope,” said Project Coordinator Jide Peters. He noted that the project has the endorsement of the Presidency, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris Malagi, and oversight from the Coordinating Minister of the Economy’s office.

The 30-minute episodes will explore what Peters described as Nigeria’s “Fennaissance”, a financial and economic renaissance driven by fiscal reforms, infrastructure development and digital innovation, with an expected reach of over 300 million viewers worldwide.

Supporting partners include the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Bank of Industry (BOI), National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and Sahara Energy.

Key industry figures and government officials will feature in the series, including Coordinating Minister of the Economy Wale Edun; Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Benjamin Okezie Kalu; Minister of Power Adebayo Adelabu; Minister of Youth Development Ayodele Olawande; Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development Festus Keyamo; and Minister of Sports Development Senator John Owan Enoh.

Private sector voices such as Flutterwave CEO Olugbenga Agboola, Innoson Group Chairman Chief Innocent Chukwuma, Sahara Group Group Managing Director Kola Adesina, and Interswitch Group CEO Mitchell Elegbe will also appear, alongside regulatory agency heads and security chiefs.

BOI Managing Director Dr Olasupo Olusi expressed hope for a Nigeria “where every young person believes this country will work for them,” while FIRS Chairman Dr Zacch Adedeji urged collective action to support the President’s vision to “banish poverty in Nigeria.”

Peters said the campaign would counter outdated stereotypes by spotlighting investment-ready sectors, policy reforms and private–public collaboration. “Our focus is to project, without compromise, the outstanding deliverables of the nation’s public and private sectors on all local and international platforms,” he stated.
