President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday, July 24, 2025, welcomed a delegation of former state governors who held office during Nigeria’s 1999 return to democratic rule.

Led by former Delta State Governor James Ibori, the delegation comprised notable political figures who, like Tinubu, served as governors during the 1999–2007 administration cycle. President Tinubu himself governed Lagos State during that era.
